Flying Flea C6: Royal Enfield’s First Electric Motorcycle Launched in India

Royal Enfield has unveiled the Royal Enfield Flying Flea C6, its first series-production electric motorcycle under the newly established Flying Flea sub-brand for the Indian market.

The Flying Flea C6 draws inspiration from the brand’s wartime-era motorcycles, but its execution is firmly contemporary. Instead of adapting an existing petrol platform, Royal Enfield has developed a dedicated electric architecture focused on urban usability, lightweight engineering, and a compact design language tailored for city riding conditions.

Powering the Flying Flea C6 is a 15.4 kW PMSM electric motor paired with a 3.91 kWh lithium-ion battery pack. The setup produces 60 Nm of torque, with significantly higher output available at the wheel, enabling strong low-speed urban performance.

The motorcycle accelerates from 0 to 60 kmph in 3.7 seconds and has a top speed of 115 kmph, while delivering a claimed IDC range of 154 kilometres. The tuning clearly reflects a city-first approach, where rapid acceleration and efficiency are prioritised over long-distance touring capability.

Charging is handled via a standard 16A home socket through an onboard charger. Under ideal conditions, the battery can be charged from 20 to 80 percent in around 65 minutes. Regenerative braking further enhances efficiency in stop-and-go traffic, helping extend real-world riding range.

In terms of design, the Flying Flea C6 stands apart from conventional Royal Enfield motorcycles. It adopts a neo-retro aesthetic that blends exposed mechanical elements with a minimal EV framework. The girder-style front suspension, floating seat design, detachable pillion unit, and compact proportions create a distinctive identity that avoids the scooter-like styling seen in many urban EVs.

The battery pack is housed in an aluminium casing that improves thermal management and aerodynamic efficiency while also contributing to the motorcycle’s visual character.

Weighing just 124 kilograms, it becomes the lightest Royal Enfield ever produced, reinforcing its focus on agility and ease of handling. Compact dimensions, including a 1366 mm wheelbase and 823 mm seat height, further strengthen its urban usability, particularly in dense traffic conditions.

The feature set reflects a clear push toward connectivity and rider assistance technology. A 3.5-inch TFT touchscreen serves as the primary interface, supported by Bluetooth, WiFi, and 4G connectivity.

It integrates Google-based navigation, over-the-air updates, and rider aids such as traction control, cornering ABS, cruise control, and voice assistance. The Individual riding mode allows riders to fine-tune throttle response, ABS intervention, and traction control settings—offering a level of customisation uncommon in this segment.

Positioned at a starting price of INR 2.79 lakh (ex-showroom India), the motorcycle enters the premium urban electric vehicle segment. A Battery-as-a-Service option reduces the entry cost to INR 1.99 lakh, introducing a flexible ownership model that lowers upfront cost while separating battery usage from the vehicle.

The Royal Enfield Flying Flea C6 ultimately positions itself as an urban-focused electric motorcycle that blends heritage-inspired design with modern technology.

While it is not aimed at long-distance touring riders, it lays the groundwork for Royal Enfield’s future in the electric two-wheeler space, where efficiency, connectivity, and city practicality take precedence over traditional performance benchmarks.
